Hazards We All Want To Avoid
1. Small parts warning
Many of my plushies and accessories may include:
- Safety eyes
- Safety noses
- Buttons
- Beads
- Embroidery details
- Felt or other small appliqués
These parts are securely attached, but they are still small and could pose a choking hazard if removed or chewed on.
Not recommended for:
- Children under 3
- Pets who chew or swallow toys
- Anyone who may put objects in their mouth
If you need an infant-safe version, please request it during your custom order. I can substitute embroidered eyes and noses or leave off small parts entirely when possible.
2. Materials and allergies
I use a variety of yarns and fibers, including:
- Acrylic
- Cotton
- Velvet or chenille yarns
- Wool or wool blends (by request)
- Polyester stuffing
- Felt and fleece accents
I do my best to keep materials clean and scent-free, but I cannot guarantee that items are hypoallergenic.
Please let me know before ordering if you or the recipient has:
- Wool sensitivity
- Latex allergies
- Fragrance or scent sensitivity
- Skin contact concerns with certain fibers
I will do my best to accommodate, but I cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or materials.
3. Washing and care
General care guidelines:
- Spot clean gently with a damp cloth when possible
- Machine wash only if the item is made with washable fibers (acrylic or cotton)
- Use a mesh bag for small or delicate items
- Wash on gentle or delicate cycle
- Tumble dry on low or delicate, or air dry to preserve shape
- Do not use bleach
- Keep away from pets who chew
4. Pet safety
Crocheted items are not designed as pet chew toys, even if they look like plushies. Yarn, stuffing, and small parts can be dangerous if chewed, swallowed, or torn apart.
Please supervise pets around handmade items and store them out of reach when not in use.

Knotorious Yarn Alchemist is not responsible for misuse of items, including but not limited to:
- Giving small-part items to infants or young children
- Allowing pets to chew or destroy items
- Ignoring allergy or fiber warnings
- Washing or caring for items outside the recommendations on this page
