Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn:
    • Green or Green-Yellow (hood)

  • Crochet hook (size appropriate for your yarn)
  • Fiberfill / Polyfil stuffing

Make a chain of 8 and attach with SS into the first stitch of Rnd 42.
This creates a gap at the bottom that we will now close.

Closing R1: Chn 1, SC until you reach the chain, SC 8 across chain, SS
Closing R2: Chn 1, *SC 2, Dec* — repeat
Closing R3: Continue decreasing to fully close gap

Head

Use skin-tone yarn.

Assembly

Stuff the hood lightly. Insert the head into the hood and sew securely around the opening. Weave in all ends.

Eye Embroidery Guide

  • Iris: Red–orange gradient (DMC 606, 608, 666)
  • Pupil: Black (DMC 310)
  • Highlights: White or light blue (DMC Blanc, 3756)
  • Lashes & Eyelids: Dark purple/plum (DMC 550 or 3834)
  • Eyebrows: Reddish pink (DMC 817 or 891)

Eye Template Instructions

Print the template on transfer paper and iron it onto embroidery fabric.
Embroider using the colors listed.
Cut out the finished eyes and hot glue them onto Kasane between Rnds 28–30, spaced 7–9 stitches apart.

Use skin tone yarn for the nose.
Use black or red for the mouth, eyebrows, and lashes.

Hair (Red)

Medium Strand

Ch 8
SS in 7th
SC next
2 HDC in next
DC in next 2
TR in last stitches
Fasten off, weave in ends, attach to head

4 Small Strands

Ch 7
SS in 6th
SC next
HDC + DC in next stitch
DC in next
TR in last stitches
Fasten off
Attach 2 on each side of the medium strand

2 Large Strands

Ch 10
SS in 9th
SC in 8th
2 HDC in 7th & 6th
DC in 5th & 4th
TR in last 3 stitches
Fasten off
Attach one on each side

Stem (Brown)

Ch 9
SC 8
Continue on other side (16 sts total)
SS around
Fasten off, leave long tail
Fold lengthwise and sew closed
Attach to top of hood

Leaf (Light Green)

Ch 7

On one side:
SC in 2nd ch
HDC in next
DC in next 3
2 HDC in next
Ch 2, SC in 2nd ch (picot)

Other side:
